Landscape or portrait: framing your studio duo

Understand the fixed 16:9 dance output and the trade-offs of cropping it for a vertical screen.

Landscape gives both dancers room

The current generator creates 16:9 landscape videos. This frame leaves horizontal room for both dancers and their movement. Watch the entire example to check the composition, rather than judging it from its cover image. The generator does not currently offer a portrait-format setting.

Portrait requires a separate edit

For a 9:16 presentation, download the MP4 and use a separate video editor. A vertical crop can remove dancers or gestures near the sides. Fitting the entire landscape clip inside a portrait canvas preserves the frame but adds space above and below it.

Cropping and generation differ

Changing a crop in an external editor does not change the original generation. Keep a copy of the downloaded 16:9 file, review all movements after cropping, and avoid repeatedly compressing your only copy. There is no 9:16 generation switch on the current site.

Review the final frame

Check the beginning, middle and end, especially movements close to the frame edges. If you add captions later, avoid placing them over faces or important gestures. Save the downloaded original before making a publishing version so that you retain a clean file if framing or compression needs another adjustment.
